This Performance Work Statement (PWS) outlines the requirements for a Music Director for the Ellsworth Air Force Base Protestant Worship Service.

• Provide music activities for the Protestant Community at Ellsworth AFB.

• Play, train, schedule, and process music for Protestant Services in collaboration with chaplains.

• The Music Director is required to be present for all rehearsals, services, and special events.

• Estimated events: 112 per year, including a minimum of 56 rehearsals and 56 services.

• Rehearsals and services are held at the Ellsworth AFB Chapel.

• Education and Experience: Minimum 4 years of college in music (or related field) or equivalent experience leading worship teams/bands. Ability to sing, lead worship, plan/organize contemporary praise teams, sight-read, arrange, improve, play, and score music. Fluency in English is required.

• General Responsibilities: Provide musical directorship, assemble a band/praise team (minimum Guitarist, Piano, Drummer, Vocalist, and sound booth operator), lead rehearsals and services, coordinate with the Chaplain, assist with budget and volunteer training, and avoid unauthorized duplication of copyrighted materials.

• Specific Responsibilities: Arrive 45 minutes before services/special services and 15 minutes before rehearsals. Submit purchase/repair requests, recruit/coordinate volunteers, and manage facility setup/restoration.

• Criminal History Background Check: Required within 20 days of contract award. Disqualifying information can lead to termination. Provisional checks are allowed under Line of Sight Supervision (LOSS) until fully adjudicated.

• Duty Hours: Estimated 112 events annually (56 rehearsals, 56 services). Replacements must be coordinated and approved at least 14 days in advance, except for illness/emergency.

• Government Furnished Property: Chapel will provide telephone and copier access. Government-owned instruments and sound equipment are available for use.
