Quick Summary
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is soliciting proposals for a turnkey signage project at the Dallas VA Medical Center (VAMC) Emergency Department and Observation Unit. This project aims to improve patient and staff navigation, reduce stress, and increase hospital efficiency through a comprehensive interior and exterior signage program. This is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside.
Scope of Work
The project involves four key phases:
- Phase 1: Interior Signage Planning and Programming: Develop Sign Program Documents, including design standards, specifications, message schedules, and location plans, adhering to VA North Texas Healthcare System (VANTHS) standards.
- Phase 2: Signage Fabrication and Delivery: Manufacture and deliver all signage according to 100% construction documents and VANTHS standards. Fabrication must be done by the Signage Contractor, with no outsourcing.
- Phase 3: Removal & Installation: Remove existing signage, repair surfaces, and install new signage. Installation workers must be OSHA 30 certified and have VA contractor badging.
- Phase 4: Long Term Maintenance Support: Provide ongoing maintenance support, including regular walkthroughs and inspections. All signage must match VANTHS standards (Attachments A1 and A2) and be brand name or equal, featuring modular systems, interchangeable components, and specific material specifications (e.g., extruded aluminum structural rail).
