Quick Summary

The Department of the Air Force is conducting market research through a Sources Sought notice to identify potential sources for an Entrapment Area System at Keesler Air Force Base, MS. This is not a solicitation, but an inquiry to determine industry capabilities. Responses are due by May 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM CST.

Purpose

The primary purpose of this Sources Sought is to procure an entrapment area system for the Command Post (Bldg. 4330 Rm 143) at Keesler AFB. The Government is seeking to identify firms capable of installing and upgrading this critical security infrastructure.

Scope of Work

The required system involves the installation and upgrade of an entrapment area system within the Command Post. Key aspects include:

  • Access Control: Installation of new, robust door entry/exit keypads, Proximity Access Card (PAC) scanners, and a standalone computer with software for managing personnel profiles, PINs, and PACs.
  • Door Logic: Programming doors with specific entry/exit requirements, including PIN for the first door and PAC for the second door for entry. Exit requires an exit button for the first door and a PAC for the second door. The outer door must remain locked and be remotely unlocked for entry.
  • System Components: Provision of 1 commercial grade keypad, 2 PAC scanners, 1 exit button, a minimum of 25 programmable PACs, and a standalone computer (24-inch monitor, no Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/camera, internet-independent) with software for access management.
  • Security Features: Replacement of existing Balance Magnetic Switches (BMS) for both doors. The system must prevent both doors from opening simultaneously by default, with a 'SECURED' default and an 'OPEN' switch for simultaneous operation.
  • Power Backup: Installation of a battery power backup providing at least 4 hours of operation, with BMS designed to fail in the OPEN position during a total power outage, allowing use of existing cypher locks.
  • Support: Provision of 24/7 customer service and technical support, with a 24-hour response time for equipment or software failures, hardware/software warranty, licensing, and semi-annual preventive maintenance.
