Scope of Work

The contractor will provide all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, and supplies for equine farrier services. This includes removing old shoes, trimming hooves, re-shoeing, and performing corrective shoeing for conditions such as bruised soles, abscesses, and navicular disease. Coordination with the sector veterinarian is required for all corrective shoeing. Services will be performed at various locations within southern Arizona, including Ajo, Casa Grande, Tohono O'dham Nation, Douglas, Bisbee, Nogales, Elgin, Arivaca, and Willcox.

Performance standards require shoeing on a 5-6 week rotation, verbal response to inquiries within 24 hours, and replacement of thrown/pulled shoes within 96 hours. The contractor must also maintain a detailed log for each horse, documenting service dates, shoe type, behavioral issues, and lameness corrections.
