Quick Summary

The Department of the Navy (NAVSEA HQ) is conducting a Sources Sought for concepts for an Evolved SEASPARROW Missile (ESSM) Releasable Seeker Assembly. This market research aims to identify solutions for the Next Significant Variant (NSV) that are releasable to all 12 NATO SEASPARROW Project Office (NSPO) consortium nations, affordable, and support rapid capability insertion. Responses are due March 27, 2026.

Scope of Work

  • Integration: Integrate with a 10" diameter missile body and guidance section.
  • Performance: Capable against current and future threats across various velocities, altitudes, and maneuverability, operating in complex natural, RF, and/or IR environments. Must perform target search & acquisition, track multiple targets, discriminate, provide threat track measurements, and handle countermeasures.
  • Design Principles: Minimize size, weight, and power consumption. Designs should follow an open, modular, and standards-driven architecture, incorporating open-source principles.
  • Data Rights: The government seeks maximum rights in technical data, computer software, and design artifacts, ideally under Government Purpose Rights.
