Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force, AFLCMC WNKAA, is seeking proposals for the MHU 196/204 A1 Power Control Unit Effort. This Fair Opportunity Proposal Request (FOPR), issued as a Delivery Order under the Eglin Wide Agile Acquisition Contract (EWAAC) IDIQ, aims to support the service life extension of existing legacy MHU-196/204 trailers, which have been in service for 40 years. This opportunity is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. Proposals are due by June 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM EST.
Scope of Work
The requirement involves the production of MHU A1 Power Control Units and Main Control Units. The contract includes an initial production of 5 units in Year 1, followed by a minimum of 50 units in Option Year 1, and the remaining 38 units in Option Year 2, for a total of 93 units. Contractors must adhere to detailed Special Packaging Instructions (SPI) for both Power Control Units and Main Control Units, covering preservation (MIL-STD-2073-1, Method 10), packing, marking (MIL-STD-129), and closure. A critical aspect is compliance with phytosanitary requirements for all wood packaging material (WPM), which must be debarked and heat-treated in accordance with ISPM No. 15 and DOD 4140.01-M-1. Deliveries will be made to various Air Force bases, including Minot, Whiteman, Edwards, Sheppard, Barksdale, Dyess, and Ellsworth AFBs, with tracking information required for the Robins AFB/ROZ office.
