Key Requirements & Qualification

This part requires engineering source approval by the design control activity to maintain quality. Existing qualified sources possess unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge. Alternate sources must qualify according to the design control activity's procedures, approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. Award is contingent upon meeting qualification requirements per FAR clause 52.209-1.

  • Qualification Article: A pre-contract award qualification article must be provided at the offeror's expense for evaluation.
  • Estimated Qualification Cost/Time: Approximately $36,000.00 and 180 days.

Eligibility & Set-Aside

It is not expected that this requirement will be set-aside for small businesses. Offerors must be fully qualified before contract award. Qualification does not guarantee an award. Waiver criteria (QWC1-QWC6) for qualification requirements are available for those with prior supply experience or similar qualifications.
