Purpose & Scope
This RFI is for market research purposes only to identify vendors capable of providing specialized equipment for the safe storage, handling, and transportation of F-35 wheels, tires, rims, and accessories. The equipment will support daily operations, Temporary Duty (TDY) assignments, and deployment requirements for the 325th Fighter Wing mission support at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. Interested parties should indicate their capability to meet the requirements outlined in the attached salient characteristics document.
Key Requirements
The required F-35 Wheel and Tire Shipping/Storage Container Support Kits include:
- Eight (8) Tactical i90 ISU Lockers: Must fit standard ISU-90 4-door containers, be secured by a standard padlock, made of rugged high-grade steel, and have a minimum capacity of 3000 lbs (750 lbs per shelf).
- Two (2) Mobile Container Ramps: Must support a minimum of 3000 lbs, have wheels and handles for transport, and be lightweight aluminum.
- Sixteen (16) Wheel Storage Transportation (WST) Units: Must store two rows of 15-18" diameter wheels or one row of 19-33" diameter wheels, be tested and approved for F-35 wheel storage/transport, made of rugged high-grade steel, fit within standard ISU-90, have padded sides/dividers, and preferably include retractable wheels.
