Scope of Work
The contractor will provide all personnel, equipment, and services for the collection, propagation, and transplanting of native vegetation. Key requirements include:
- Propagation: Ability to propagate up to 200,000 plants from seed or cutting for various native species (e.g., yerba mansa, saltbush, cottonwood, willow, bulrush).
- Greenhouse Facilities: Maintain facilities capable of housing up to 1,000,000 plugs and 50,000 potted plants (minimum 4x4 inches), with controlled environments, rolling benches, and shade systems.
- Transplanting: Ship plants in protective containers, achieve a 95% survival rate, and plant up to 150,000 trees in a single season. This includes using machinery for 1-foot in-line spacing and 38-inch row width, as well as hand-planting.
- Locations: Deliver and plant vegetation at various specified conservation areas (e.g., Beal Lake, Cibola NWR, Palo Verde Ecological Reserve).
- Adverse Conditions: Demonstrate experience performing planting operations under challenging conditions, including shallow water, remote locations, temperatures exceeding 100°F, and nighttime work.
