GENERAL: C.W. Bill Young Veterans Medical Center located at 10000 Bay Pines Blvd. Bay Pines, Fl. 33744, and Lee County Veterans Healthcare Center located at 2489 Diplomat Pkwy E, Cape Coral, FL 33909 has a requirement for an Updated Water Management Plan, Water Management Update, (Audit) and New Water Management Plan for both Bay Pines VHA and Lee County Healthcare Center. The Bay Pines and Lee County Healthcare center need to meet the ST108 standard and to have continued support after the water management plans are created.

BACKGROUND: VHA directive 1061 requires all VHA facilities where patients, visitors and employees spend the night and for other services (i.e. Dental) to have a Healthcare Associated Legionella Disease (HCA LD) prevention plan (also known as a Water Management Plan (WMP). Bay Pines has a Water Management Plan that is dated October of 2017. Since this plan was completed one new building where patients spend the night has been completed (B111, Mental Health Hospital) and is being used and two buildings are anticipated to be completed in early 2026 (New Dental Clinic and Fisher House II). Because of this completed addition and planned additions the Water Management Plan needs to be updated.
