The WMP must align with AAMI ST-108:2023, AORN Guideline, and VHA Directive 1116(2). Key elements include:
- Developing a WMP with defined teams, goals, system descriptions, hazard analysis, control locations/limits/measures, monitoring, corrective actions, verification, validation, and documentation.
- Operating the WMP, facilitating quarterly meetings, providing maintenance/advice, recommending changes, and utilizing web-based data management software.
- Offering remote support and training to the Water Management Team.
- Verifying WMP implementation quarterly and validating its effectiveness through on-site water testing review.

Eligibility & Submission
This Special Notice is NOT a request for competitive quotations. However, responsible sources interested and capable of meeting this requirement must submit supporting evidence in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to comply. Qualifications include:
Being an independent provider of water management services (cannot sell treatment chemicals, disinfection devices, or remediation services).
Demonstrated experience (with references) overseeing SPS operations in a healthcare environment.
Contractor's laboratory must have environmental microbiology accreditation (e.g., EMLAP, NELAP) or state accreditation.
