The WMP must align with AAMI ST-108:2023, AORN Guideline, and VHA Directive 1116(2). Key elements include:

  • Developing a WMP with defined teams, goals, system descriptions, hazard analysis, control locations/limits/measures, monitoring, corrective actions, verification, validation, and documentation.
  • Operating the WMP, facilitating quarterly meetings, providing maintenance/advice, recommending changes, and utilizing web-based data management software.
  • Offering remote support and training to the Water Management Team.
  • Verifying WMP implementation quarterly and validating its effectiveness through on-site water testing review.
