Quick Summary

Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), managed by Fermi Forward Discovery Group, LLC (FFDG) under the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is soliciting proposals for the fabrication, assembly, testing, and delivery of PIP-II SSR2 Edge-welded bellows. This is an unrestricted opportunity for a firm-fixed-price subcontract. Proposals are due by March 6, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. CST.

Scope of Work

The requirement involves the fabrication of specific bellows sub-assemblies and kits, including Cavity to Cavity Bellows and related components, as detailed in the Statement of Work (SOW) ED0045548 Rev A. Key deliverables include:

  • Fabrication, assembly, testing, and delivery of SSR2 Edge-welded bellows.

  • Provision of Certified Mill Test Reports (CMTRs) and development of a Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and a project-specific Manufacturing and Inspection Plan (MIP).
  • Specific material requirements include 316LN stainless steel (not 316L) and titanium screws for non-magnetic properties.
  • Bellows must withstand a proof test (2.05 bar MAWP), 2000 life cycles, 150 thermal cycles, and cold shock tests in liquid nitrogen, operating from 2K to room temperature. Magnetic permeability of finished weldments must be less than 1.02.
