Scope of Work
The requirement is for approximately 1,625 tons of Bulk Rock Salt (99.5% or greater Sodium Chloride / Solar Salt) annually, delivered in approximately 65 pneumatic truckloads, each containing about 25 tons. Deliveries will be made to the Powerhouse or Central Utility Plant at FCC Terre Haute, where salt will be stored in a fiberglass silo. The contractor must adhere to all local, state, and federal codes, including EPA requirements, and comply with BOP institution rules regarding safety and health. Product handling and storage must prevent damage, deterioration, and loss. Deliveries are anticipated Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm, excluding Federal Holidays.
Contract Details
This will be an indefinite delivery/requirements contract with firm-fixed unit prices. The contract period includes a base year from the date of award (anticipated May 1, 2026) through 12 months, plus two (2) one-year option periods. The anticipated award date is April 2026. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) code is 325998 – All Other Miscellaneous Chemical Product and Preparation Manufacturing, with a size standard of 650 employees.
Submission & Evaluation
Quotes must be submitted electronically via email to bwendorff@bop.gov in PDF format only, by April 08, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Central Time. Faxed and hand-delivered quotes will not be accepted. Evaluation will be based on the best value to the Government, considering price and past performance history. Offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database and include their Unique Entity Identifier (UEI).
