Purpose & Scope

• Purpose: This notice is for planning purposes only, seeking to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities, and qualifications of various members of the Small Business Community, including Section 8(a), HUB-Zone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), and Woman-Owned Small Business. The information will help determine the acquisition strategy for a contract for Fire Extinguisher Services.
• Scope of Work: Services include, but are not limited to, annual maintenance, 6-year internal inspections, and hydrostatic testing for various types of fire extinguishers. This covers 10-pound ABC Dry Chemical, 1.25-pound Halon 1211 Aircraft, K-Class Wet Chemical, stored water pressure, 50lb DC, 20-30lb dry chemical wheeled units, and 150-lb wheeled Halon 1211 extinguishers.

• Anticipated Contract Type: Firm Fixed Price.
• Anticipated Duration: One base year and four additional option years.
• Set-Aside: The purpose of this sources sought is to assess the availability of small businesses to compete for a Total Small Business Set-Aside. If adequate small business contractors are not available, the opportunity may be advertised as unrestricted.
• Place of Performance: Peoria, IL.

Response Requirements & Deadline

• Response Due: March 24, 2026, by 12:00 PM CDT.
• Submission Method: Responses must be submitted in writing via email to Jason Shallenberger at jason.shallenberger@us.af.mil. The subject line must be "Sources Sought-Fire Extinguisher Services".
• Content (not to exceed five typewritten pages):
  • A completed and signed "Sources Sought Response Form" (attached to the posting).
  • A positive statement of intent to bid as a prime contractor.
  • A brief outline of key personnel, resources, and subcontractors.
  • A listing of comparable projects completed during the past three years (for both government and private industry), including type, dollar value, location, 'owner' point of contact, contract number, and prime/subcontractor status.
  • Company information (CAGE CODE, Unique Entity ID (UEI)) and socio-economic status (e.g., Large, Small, 8(a), HUB Zone, WOSB, SDVOSB).
  • Confirmation of SAM.gov registration.
