The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, MD awarded a firm fixed price modification under contract N0001924C0004 to Lockheed Martin Corporation, Missiles, and Fire Control (LMMFC), Archbald, Pennsylvania. This modification adds fiscal year 2026 production of the Bomb Dummy Unit (BDU)-59C/B Laser Guided Training Round (LGTR) to the contract.
This acquisition was awarded on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. Section 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." LMMFC is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the BDU-59C/B LGTR, and as such is the only company that has the requisite knowledge, technical expertise, production tooling facilities and technical data necessary to meet this requirement.
