Key Requirements

• Testing & Certification: Required for Dye Penetrant/Magnetic Particle Inspection, Macroetch Test (ASTM-E381), and Non-Destructive Tests. Certifications for mechanical properties, heat treatment, and mercury-free status are mandatory. A Certificate of Compliance for Special Emphasis Material is required. Electronic signatures are acceptable under controlled processes.
• Quality System: Contractors must maintain a quality system in accordance with ISO-9001, with calibration system requirements of ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025 (or MIL-I-45208 with MIL-STD-45662). Government Quality Assurance (GQA) at source is required, necessitating DCMA notification.
• Traceability: Essential for Level I/SUBSAFE systems, requiring unique traceability numbers (heat-lot, heat-treat) marked on material, traceable to chemical and mechanical properties. MIL-STD-792 applies for permanent marking.
• Welding/Brazing: Procedures and qualification data must be submitted for review and approval prior to any welding or brazing. Specific standards like S9074-AR-GIB-010A/278 apply.
• Waivers/Deviations: All waivers and deviations require review and approval by the Contracting Officer.
• Packaging: Must comply with MIL-STD 2073.

Evaluation & Submission
