Solicitation / RFP / RFQ

This document is a Justification and Approval (J&A) for a Brand Name or Equal requirement for an upcoming Request for Quotations (RFQ). The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support, Subsistence Supply Chain, is the contracting activity. This J&A justifies the use of "Brand Name or Equal" descriptions for specific items to meet DLA's needs.

The following items are required as Brand Name or Equal:

• Display Case, Vertical Glass Sides (True Mfg, G4SM-23RGS-TSL01)
• Milk Dispenser (Silver King, SKMAJ3-ESUS4)
• Counter Refrigerator (Beverage Air, CT96HC-1-B)
• Refrigerated Merchandiser (Beverage Air, MMR27HC-1-W)
• Refrigerated Merchandiser (Beverage Air, MMR45HC-1-B)
• Convection Oven, Electric (Southbend, PCE22S/TD)
• Reach-In Refrigerator (Beverage Air, HR3HC-1S)
• Display Case, Vertical Glass Sides (True Mfg, G4SM-23RGS-TSL01)
• Dishwasher, Conveyor Type (Champion, 86Pro)
• Ice & Water Dispenser (Scotsman, HID312A-1)
• Reach-In Freezer (Beverage Air, FB23HC-15)

Installation requirements, including the installation of new items and removal/disposal of replaced items, will also be required.

This acquisition will be issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ).

The solicitation will encourage competition by allowing for the submission of alternate "or equal" products. Submitted technical data packages for alternates will be forwarded to the customer for acceptability determination.

This acquisition is being issued as brand name or equal in an effort to solicit from as many sources as is practicable by allowing the consideration of alternate "or equal" items. The items procured are publicly available commercial items.

This document serves as the justification for using brand name or equal descriptions, as required by Section 888(a) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 and DFARS.
