Quick Summary
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically Network Contracting Office 22, is soliciting proposals for a Food Service Management System (FSMS) Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution. This unrestricted acquisition seeks a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) system, "Computrition Inc. or Equal," to manage clinical nutrition, food production, and patient meal services across multiple VA Medical Centers. The current contract expires April 30, 2026. Proposals are due April 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM Pacific Time.
Scope of Work
The required FSMS SaaS will support comprehensive food service operations, including menu development, recipe standardization, production planning, and inventory tracking. Key clinical nutrition management capabilities include patient diet orders, allergy tracking, meal planning, and patient-specific dietary management with meal tracking and specialized nutrition support. The system must provide nutritional analysis, ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP), and integrate seamlessly with existing VA clinical and administrative systems (e.g., VISTA, via HL7 or equivalent) for real-time patient data exchange. Secure operation, compliance with VA IT and cybersecurity requirements (including Single Sign-On), and multi-site deployment are essential. The solution should include licenses for core software modules (e.g., Hospitality Suite, Room Service Connect, Tray in Motion) and offer user support, dedicated account management, and regular updates.
