Statement of Need

To outline the specific characteristics required for a breathing air compressor to be used in confined space aircraft fuel system repair.

• The breathing air compressor must be model BAC-20P manufactured by Air Systems.
• The compressor must be explosion-proof.
• The compressor must be capable of adequately supplying three attached 3M model 7800S respirators simultaneously.
• Connection points for the respirators must utilize Hansen series 400 couplings.
• The connection point for the pneumatic air source must be compatible with the USAF aerospace ground equipment MC-7 air compressor, using a Dixon AM5 5/8” hose end.
