Scope of Work

This Design-Build project entails the comprehensive removal and replacement of the existing built-up roof (BUR) system on Building 11551, a historic 75,000 square feet facility constructed in the early 1940s. The scope includes:

  • Removing the existing BUR from the 50,500 SF high barrel roof section and three low-slope lean-to sections (West: 36x268 ft, East: 36x229 ft, South: 36x180 ft).
  • Installing a new 3-ply SBS-Modified BUR roof assembly with a granular cap sheet on the barrel roof section.
  • Replacing the three low-slope lean-to sections with new 90-mil Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) roof assemblies, ensuring all roofing assemblies are fully adhered.
  • Replacing existing roof drains, flashings, vent pipe flashing, cover board, insulation, vapor barrier, cant strips, metal copings, and trim.
  • Incorporating an addition of approximately 35 ft by 38 ft on the East side.
