Scope of Work

The required work includes the repair and improvement of four Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW) upland placement areas located in Carteret, Onslow, Pender, and Brunswick Counties, North Carolina. Additionally, one upland placement area at Camp Lejeune in Onslow County, North Carolina, will undergo similar repairs and improvements. The scope encompasses clearing these upland placement areas, as well as raising and stabilizing their perimeter dikes to varying elevations, not exceeding 20’ NAVD88. Furthermore, all five upland placement areas will require the complete replacement of six spillway systems, which consist of a platform structure, stoplogs, and a pipe system designed to drain water from future dredged material. An environmental window for bat-related tree clearing is in effect from December 15 to February 15 (Winter Torpor) and May 1 to July 15 (Pupping season).
