Quick Summary

The 42d Contracting Squadron, on behalf of the 23rd Flying Training Squadron, is conducting market research (Sources Sought) to identify potential sources for a complete, turnkey audio-visual (AV) system upgrade for Baker Auditorium and an expansion into the adjacent Heritage Room at Cairns AAF, Fort Rucker, AL. The government requires a contractor to engineer, de-install existing equipment, furnish, install, and integrate a modern, non-proprietary AV solution. Responses are due May 13, 2026, by 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Scope of Work

The project involves a comprehensive upgrade and expansion:

  • Baker Auditorium AV System Upgrade: De-installation of outdated equipment, installation of a new 4K short-throw laser projector, 12ft electric screen, upgraded audio system (speakers, amplifier, flush-mount and wireless microphones), speaker prompt TV, PTZ camera with AI auto-tracking, and a new AV-over-IP control system (e.g., QSC Q-SYS Core Nano) for multi-zone management and secure isolation. Integration of Government-furnished equipment and Unified Communications (UC) capabilities is required.
  • Heritage Room AV Expansion: Routing Baker Auditorium's presentation feed to existing TVs, integrating soundbars/subwoofers, providing secure isolation, and local input selection.
  • Performance Standards: All work must comply with NEC, UFC, and AVIXA/INFOCOMM standards. Equipment must be new, professional/commercial grade, Section 889 compliant, and offer perpetual core AV system functionality without recurring software subscriptions.
  • Special Requirements: Includes fire-stopping, damage restoration, electrical safety, shielded CAT6A cabling, 2 hours of on-site training, and a comprehensive "System Hand-Off Package" (physical and digital, including source code, as-built diagrams, and quick start guides).
  • Optional Add-ons: Itemized pricing is requested for potential additions such as a fixed audience camera, Heritage Room 4.1 sound system, microphone array upgrade, video windowing processor, and a new equipment rack.
