Dredge Area 11: Superior Front Channel (Near Barkers Island)
Dredge Area 17: Superior Entry (between pier and breakwater structures) The contract includes options for additional dredging in Dredge Area 3 (Duluth Anchorage Area) and Dredge Area 14 (near the mouth of the Nemadji River). Dredged material will be mechanically placed at the Erie Pier Confined Disposal Facility (CDF). Placement involves washing material to segregate fine to coarse-grained sands from silty material, with sand stockpiled on-site. Sieve analysis is required for every 10,000 cubic yards of washed sand to confirm separation efficiency. The contractor will demobilize upon completion of dredging and material placement.
