Scope of Work
The contractor will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of the carousel replacement. This includes:
- Removing and disposing of existing vertical carousel units and associated debris.
- Returning serviceable parts (e.g., shelves, bins, drawers) from existing units to the government.
- Delivering and installing seven (7) new vertical carousel units.
- Testing new units for full operational capability.
- Disposing of any remaining debris/waste. Five units will be installed at 400 S. Gate 35 Road, Bldg. 2045, and two units at 500 Arnold Road, Bldg. 2163, both on Fairchild AFB.
Key Requirements
All new carousel units and components must comply with applicable safety regulations and come with standard manufacturer warranties. Specific technical requirements include an automatic chain tensioner or equivalent, an access opening light, and a safety-light curtain. All parts provided must be new. Certified electricians are required for power disconnection and reconnection, and the Heavy Duty Safety Switch from old units must be re-installed on new ones. The contractor must provide necessary equipment like forklifts, scissor lifts, and scrap metal bins. Personnel must adhere to Fairchild AFB security regulations, pass background checks, and will be escorted on the installation. Work hours are typically 0700-1630, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays, with exceptions requiring Contracting Officer approval. Clarifications from amendments specify acceptable bin clearance (0.5" overall), access opening height (19.5" to 32"), and carousel depth (65.80" – 72").
Contract Details
This is a Firm Fixed-Price solicitation. Evaluation will be based on Price and SPRS (Supplier Performance Risk System) in accordance with DFARS 252.204-7024.
