Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force, 22nd Contracting Squadron (22 CONS/PKA), is conducting market research through a Request for Information (RFI) for FY26 OG EFB Sanitization. This Total Small Business Set-Aside seeks qualified vendors to provide physical hardware sanitization of Government-owned iPad Air M3 devices, physical docking infrastructure, and centralized device management services. Responses are due by July 15, 2026, at 1200 CDT.
Purpose & Scope
This RFI aims to identify capable contractors for the permanent physical removal or disabling of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular chips, and microphone capabilities from thirty (30) Government-Owned iPad Air M3 Devices for use in sensitive environments. The requirement also includes purpose-built physical docking infrastructure to exclusively deliver iOS and publication updates via a physical connection, as devices will have zero wireless capabilities. Additionally, centralized device management services are needed to support an EFB Program Manager office for these devices, which will have no wireless connectivity, ForeFlight, email, Teams, or certificates loaded.
According to the Performance Work Statement (PWS), the objective is to enhance aircrew safety and prevent classified spillage, messaging incidents, malicious logic, or COMSEC incidents. The scope involves physically and permanently removing cellular, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi modules, all front and rear-facing cameras, all microphones, and all recording capabilities from thirty (30) 11-inch iPad Air M3 models (Manufacturer Part Number MCA14LL/A), provided as Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE). The work must ensure no damage to the iPad's screen, processor, or power components. The period of performance is 30 days from contract award, with work to be performed at the contractor's facility. Deliverables include the modified EFBs and individual reports for each serial number detailing work performed and certifying component removal. Contractors must possess expertise in electronics and hardware modification.
