Fit reasons
- NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
- Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force, 42nd Contracting Squadron, Maxwell Air Force Base (AFB), AL, is conducting a Sources Sought to identify potential sources capable of providing a lease for a Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) Detection, Identification, and Tracking Equipment system. This system is required to monitor sUAS operations on or near Maxwell AFB and Gunter Annex. This is market research, not a solicitation, and the government does not intend to award a contract based on responses. Responses are due June 26, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. CST.
Scope of Work
The requirement is for a system that can detect, identify, and track sUAS. Key components include:
- One (1) sUAS detection, identification, and tracking data service lease (Annual): Must provide a graphical user interface, real-time actionable intelligence, record pertinent sUAS and pilot data (type, location, speed, altitude, operator ID), and offer access to historical data for a minimum of 30 days. The system must be accessible on Government-Owned Desktop Workstations via LTE network, compatible with existing sUAS Remote ID Receivers, and fully integrate with the current AeroDefense system at Maxwell AFB. Vendor-provided software updates and maintenance are required.
- Two (2) sUAS Alert/Detection Zone Subscriptions (Annual): These subscriptions must provide detection, tracking, and identification for FAA registered and non-registered sUAS operating on Maxwell AFB and Gunter Annex, at a minimum of 400 feet above ground level. Capabilities for both bases must be accessible from one monitoring point/operator via single-sign on. Installation, calibration, software updates, and maintenance are also required.
- One (1) system operator and "train the trainer (T3)" program is also part of the requirement.
Information Requested
Respondents should provide:
- General Information: Company name, address, point of contact details, business type (e.g., small, large, Hub Zone), NAICS code (334511 or rationale for alternative), CAGE Code, and Unique Entity ID.
- Capabilities: Confirmation of capability to provide a system that integrates with the current AeroDefense system. Include no more than two recent and relevant contracts (within the last 3 years) with details (name, address, POC, description, contract number, value, period of performance). Proof of capability, such as a price estimate or schedule, is also requested.
- Technical Compliance: Review paragraphs 1.0-7.0 of the attached Statement of Work (SOW) and provide manufacturer specifications or product literature demonstrating how the proposed system meets these requirements.
