The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries, Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC) is soliciting proposals for a charter vessel to support the Gulf Fishery-Independent Survey of Habitat and Ecosystem Resources (G-FISHER) Program. Scope of Work

The contractor will provide a chartered vessel and crew to perform survey operations, including:

  • Deployment and retrieval of stationary baited remote underwater video (BRUV) arrays during daylight hours.
  • Sidescan mapping via towed vehicle.
  • Collection of benthic water samples at select stations for environmental DNA analysis.
  • Approximately 600 camera deployments are planned over 26 days, averaging 20 stations per day, within the Gulf of Mexico region (as depicted in Figure 1).

Key Requirements

  • USCG inspected and certified.
  • Minimum length, speed, and safety equipment.
  • Sufficient deck space, independent operation capability, and a hydraulic lifting system.

Crew Experience:

  • Knowledge of fishing gear.
