Scope of Work

This project aims to repair, replace, and improve existing facilities at the Buck Hall Recreation Area, which have not been significantly updated since 1993. The scope includes:

  • Campground: Replacement of site amenities (picnic tables, fire rings, electrical pedestals, water hydrants), repaving of parking spurs and roads, refurbishment of the host site, replacement of electrical and potable water systems, and replacement of the campground bathhouse and wastewater system. The well house building will also be replaced.
  • Boat Landing: Repaving of roads and parking areas, addition of boat trailer parking, construction of a new traffic circle, and repairs to boarding docks and boat ramps. The existing aluminum bulkhead will be largely replaced with a rock revetment.
  • Optional Bid Items: These include replacing the day-use area bathhouse and picnic shelter, landscaping, site amenities, day-use area parking and circulation, a new kayak launch, improvements to the fishing pier, an overflow parking lot, a storage building, and a telecommunications system.
  • Building Construction: Phase One encompasses Buildings 100 (Day Use Restroom), 200 & 700 (Well Houses), 400 (Storage Building), and 500 (Picnic Pavilion). Phase Two focuses on Building 600 (Campground Bath House).
  • Site Work: Detailed plans cover site layout, grading, demolition, utility plans (water, sanitary sewers, storm drains, power), erosion control, site details (pavement, sidewalks, RV dump stations, kiosks), signage, landscaping, and marine elements (fishing piers, kayak launches, floating docks, bulkhead replacement).
