Source Approval Request (SAR) Process
Companies interested in becoming an "Approved Source" for this item must submit an application package through the SAR Program. The attached document, "JACG SAM HB 16March11 signed.pdf" (Aviation Source Approval and Management Handbook), outlines the procedures and requirements for source approval, particularly for aviation parts and Critical Safety Items (CSIs). A SAR package must contain technical data demonstrating the prospective contractor's ability to competently manufacture the product to the same or better quality than the currently approved item.
