Quick Summary

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service is soliciting proposals for the replacement of two non-functioning geothermal HVAC units at the Sabine Ranger Office in Hemphill, TX. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside opportunity. Quotes are due by May 18, 2026, at 4:00 PM ET.

Scope of Work

This project involves the removal and replacement of two existing, inoperable 5-ton, closed-loop dual inline pump Geothermal Heat Pumps (e.g., Trane GEVE06011G01ATR0010000100000000000 or equivalent) at the Sabine Ranger District Office. New units must match or exceed the tonnage, performance, and capacity of the existing units, featuring a 2-stage scroll compressor, up-flow design, and dual flow pump center, without electric resistance heat. The contractor will be responsible for installing new programmable controls, system balancing, connecting to existing air distribution, water circulation systems, and power. Existing ducting and piping should not be significantly altered. The scope also includes purging geothermal system lines, commissioning, installing new polymer drain pans, and removing/disposing of existing units and debris. An optional item for the replacement of existing circulation pumps for Units 1 & 4 with new GeoFlo 2-pump pressurized flow centers is also included.
