Questions & Answers / Clarifications

This document provides responses to vendor questions and clarifications regarding the Solicitation 040ADV-26-R-0010 for the G-Street Sidewalk Repair project.

• Work Hours: Normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Noisy work requires coordination with the GPO COR for potential off-hours or phased work.
• Notice to Proceed: Anticipated Notice to Proceed will be provided at contract award. Contractors should plan for a 180-calendar-day construction duration.
• Phasing: While the entire work area is generally available at once, work will be phased and coordinated with GPO operations. Staging outside work areas requires GPO approval. Access to building entrances must be maintained, though the G Street Entrance will be closed during construction in that area, requiring temporary pedestrian routing.
• Civil Drawings: Refer to Civil Drawings C001–C010, which are part of the bid package.
• Granite Curbs and Gutters: Existing granite curbs and gutters are to be removed and reinstalled as necessary. Salvageable materials should be reused unless otherwise directed.
• Aluminum Railing Shop Drawings: Shop drawings for aluminum railings must be signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer.
• Driveway Aprons: No separate bid item is required for driveway aprons; this work is included in the contract documents and should match the design intent with concrete construction.
• Ductwork: Existing sheet metal ductwork conflicting with sidewalk/structural repairs is included in the demolition scope. Only ductwork necessary for repairs should be removed; other ductwork must remain in place and be protected.
• Asbestos Abatement: No known asbestos-containing materials (ACM) are identified. If suspected ACM is encountered, work must stop immediately, GPO must be notified, and abatement must follow an approved plan by certified personnel in accordance with regulations.
