Scope of Work
DoDEA requires digital reading intervention resources aligned to its literacy standards, designed to:
- Increase engagement, reading volume, and fluency (non-fiction and fiction).
- Encourage deep thinking and improve writing for comprehension.
- Support independent reading, oral language development, and intentional vocabulary development.
- Allow student choice in materials.
Resources must be age- and developmentally appropriate, differentiate instruction for diverse learners (including students with disabilities and multilingual learners), and include assessments for progress monitoring. They must be free of bias, present balanced multicultural contributions, and comply with Section 508 accessibility standards.
