Purpose & Scope

The primary objective is to acquire a furnace capable of meeting defined technical and operational requirements for the Advanced Fuel Fabrication Group. The scope includes comprehensive design, manufacturing, assembly, factory and site acceptance testing, delivery, installation, and training for ORNL personnel. Post-installation service and maintenance are also required.

Key Requirements

  • Maintaining a vacuum of at least 1E-3 mbar and overpressure of approximately 300 mbar.

  • Multiple process gas inputs (Ar, N2, CO, H2) with 10 SLPM max flow rate MFCs.
  • Programmable temperature and gas controls with data logging.

  • The system must be NRTL certified and compliant with ASME NQA-1 (2008/2009a) or an ORNL-approved equivalent Quality Assurance Program. Bidders must also have a Suspect/Counterfeit Items Prevention Program.
