Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To renovate Greenhouse 3 at the USDA-ARS-SHRS Miami station, which is vital for Cacao, Ornamentals, and Tropical Fruit projects, housing small seedlings and experimental plants under controlled conditions.

• The greenhouse is 80 ft. in length by 43 ft. wide.
• The foundation is peat, rock, and concrete.
• The greenhouse is located north of Building #2 and south of Building #63, with vehicle-accessible breezeways.
• Upgrade utility hookups/systems for the new cooling system and exhaust fans.
• Replace the existing concrete slab floor, which is damaged and poses a safety hazard due to its uneven surface.
• Install a drainage system before pouring the new concrete slab.
• Remove and replace damaged flashing to stormproof the structure.

1. Remove and reinstall the greenhouse cooling system.
2. Repair the damaged concrete slab.
3. Install exhaust fans.
4. Remove and install damaged flashing.

The renovation is expected to take 6 weeks to complete. The schedule is weather-dependent, as work cannot proceed during severe storms.

• The construction team must provide their own equipment; no tools will be supplied by USDA-ARS-SHRS.
• Work must be performed during normal business hours (8:00 am - 4:30 pm).
• The team will be escorted off the property by 5:00 pm.
• Weekend and holiday work are not permitted.
• The construction team is responsible for removing and disposing of all garbage and waste.
