GRIT REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL

Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To provide all personnel, equipment, tools, supervision, and other items necessary to perform Grit Removal Services at the USCG Yard, Baltimore, MD.

• Removal and disposal of up to 60 tons of non-hazardous blast grit from specified areas, including the "Big Top" enclosure, ship lift cradle, dust collector drums, vessel exterior main deck, interior forepeak compartment, and gangway/stair tower.

• Grit removal must occur regardless of condition (including wet and compacted).

• Contractor must have the capability to remove 15 tons per day.

• Grit must be stored in a Vacuum Box or similar temporary containment, or transported off-site daily.

• Final cleaning to a "broom swept" condition is required.

• "Broom swept" condition defined as free of all visible dirt, dust, and debris.

• Written manifest/bill of lading required for each truckload prior to removal.

• Weight tickets from a certified commercial scale are mandatory for disposal verification.

• Disposal sites must be authorized Non-Hazardous Grit disposal sites.

• Written notification to the Environmental Protection Specialist is required for any activity potentially causing an environmental violation.

• Period of Performance: March 18, 2026, to April 7, 2026.

• Completion Time: 7 days.

• Work Hours: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM daily, including weekends, unless otherwise notified.

• Location: USCG Yard, 2401 Hawkins Point Rd, Baltimore, MD 21226.

• Contractor Furnished: All equipment and services not explicitly provided by the government. This includes safety equipment and two trucks with 200 feet of hose each. Equipment must meet all safety and noise requirements.

• Government Furnished: Material handling services for equipment, water, compressed air, and electricity (up to 200 amps, 480 volts). Contractor must provide 48-hour notice for material handling services.

• Hazardous Materials: Contractor must cease work and notify POCs immediately if suspected hazardous materials are encountered. Government is responsible for disposal of hazardous waste.

• Base Access: Personnel require visitor passes and clearance from USCG Yard Security. A list of personnel with required identification must be provided 24 hours in advance.
