Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

The objective of this Statement of Work is for the Contractor to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, and supervision necessary to perform Grit Removal Services at the USCG Yard, Baltimore, MD.

• Grit Removal: Removal and disposal of up to 60 tons of non-hazardous blast grit from specified areas, including the "Big Top" enclosure, ship lift cradle, dust collector drums, vessel's main deck, interior forepeak compartment, and gangway/stair tower.

• Grit Condition: All grit must be removed regardless of condition, including wet and compacted grit that may require manual removal methods beyond vacuuming.

• Storage: Removed grit must be stored in a Vacuum Box or similar temporary containment, not obstructing Yard operations. Alternatively, all removed grit must be transported off-site daily by the end of the shift if a temporary containment is not used.

• Disposal: Contractor is responsible for the transportation and proper disposal of grit at authorized Non-Hazardous Grit disposal sites, meeting all local, state, and federal standards. Written manifests/bills of lading are required for each truckload, and weight tickets from certified scales must be submitted.

• Final Cleaning: On the last day, designated areas must be vacuum cleaned to a "broom swept" condition (free of all visible dirt, dust, and debris).

• Removal Capacity: Contractor must have the capability of removing 15 tons per day.

• Compliance: Disposal must meet all local, state, and federal standards. Manifests and weight tickets are mandatory.

• Environmental: Written notification to the Environmental Protection Specialist is required for any activity potentially causing an environmental violation.

• Period: June 5, 2026, to June 23, 2026 (7 days completion time).

• Work Hours: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM daily, including weekends, unless otherwise notified.

• Location: USCG Yard, 2401 Hawkins Point Rd, Baltimore, MD 21226.

• Government Furnished Items: Material handling services for equipment setup, water, compressed air, and electricity (up to 200 amps, 480 volts) will be provided by the Government. Contractor must provide 48-hour notice for material handling services.

• Contractor Furnished Items: All other equipment, personnel, and services are the Contractor's responsibility.

• Hazardous Materials: If suspected hazardous materials are encountered, the Contractor must cease work immediately and notify POCs. The Government is responsible for the disposal of hazardous materials.

• Base Access: All personnel require visitor passes and clearance from USCG Yard Security. A list of personnel with required identification must be provided 24 hours in advance.
