Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To provide grit removal services within the USCG Yard, Baltimore, MD, including specific areas within a "Big Top" enclosure and onboard a vessel.

• Removal and disposal of up to 60 tons of non-hazardous blast grit.

• Grit removal required from: concrete ground, enclosure steel wheels and track channels, ship lift cradle (surfaces, angles, six "feet"), dust collector drums, ship's exterior main deck, interior forepeak compartment, and gangway/stair/steps tower.

• Grit may be wet or compacted and may require methods beyond vacuuming (e.g., shovels).

• Grit must be stored in a Vacuum Box or similar temporary containment, removed daily, or transported off-site by the end of the shift if not using a containment.

• Final cleaning to a "broom swept" condition (free of all visible dirt, dust, and debris) in designated areas on the last day.

• Contractor must have the capability to remove 15 tons per day.

• Disposal must meet all local, state, and federal standards and regulations.

• Written notification to Environmental Protection Specialist required for any activity potentially causing an environmental violation.

• Manifest/bill of lading required for each truckload prior to removal; Yard POC will sign and retain a copy.

• Weight tickets from a certified commercial scale showing TARE and GROSS loaded weight are required.

• Disposal sites must be authorized Non-Hazardous Grit disposal sites.

• Period of Performance: February 9, 2026, to February 16, 2026 (7 days).

• Work Hours: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM daily, including weekends, unless otherwise notified.

• Location: USCG Yard, 2401 Hawkins Point Rd, Baltimore, MD 21226.

• Government Furnished Items/Services: Material handling for equipment loading/unloading and setup, water, compressed air, and electricity (up to 200 amps, 480 volts). Contractor must provide 48-hour notice for material handling.

• Contractor Furnished Items/Services: All other personnel, equipment, tools, supervision, and materials. Required equipment includes safety equipment and two trucks with 200 feet of hose each.

• Hazardous Materials: If suspected hazardous materials are encountered, the contractor must cease work immediately and notify POCs. The Government is responsible for disposal of hazardous materials.

• Base Access: Requires coordination through Yard POC, visitor passes, and security clearance. A list of personnel with full name, picture ID, and DOB is required 24 hours prior to access.
