Quick Summary
The United States Space Force (USSF) is hosting an Industry Day Site Visit for the Ground Based Radar Digitization (GBRD) Program at Cavalier Space Force Station, ND. This event aims to engage industry in modernizing critical Ground Based Radars (GBRs) to enhance space domain awareness, improve missile defense capabilities, and address obsolescence. RSVP is required by April 3, 2026, 5:00 PM EST, and attendees must possess an Active US Government Secret Clearance.
Program Background
The GBRD Program supports the National Defense Strategy by modernizing the Ballistic Missile Defense System's GBRs, which provide early warning, tracking, and classification data for ballistic missiles. These long-range, all-weather radars, located globally, also support the Space Surveillance Network. The program will digitize eight radar sites, including Thule AB, Beale AFB, Cape Cod SFS, Clear SFS, Eareckson AS, Cavalier SFS, and RAF Fylingdales. Key objectives include enhancing radar performance, transitioning to a government-owned modular open system architecture, and adding Missile Defense to PARCS.
Industry Day Purpose
This event is designed to foster synergy between the GBRD Program Office and industry, allowing industry to provide feedback for requirements development. It offers an opportunity to learn about GBRD program requirements and schedule, understand recent industry developments, and visit the unique weapon system. The USSF is seeking solutions that leverage open system, non-proprietary architectures, utilize Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) technology, and incorporate cybersecurity compliance.
