Scope of Work
The contractor will be responsible for the inspection and certification of approximately 1047 fire, smoke, and combination dampers at JAHVH. This includes furnishing all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, and insurance. Key tasks involve installing access doors where required, ensuring all identified dampers are operational and accessible, and providing comprehensive documentation of all inspections and certifications in both hard copy and electronic formats. Drawings will be provided prior to scheduling work.
Performance Standards & Requirements
Work must be performed by qualified Contractor Professionals, including NICET certified technicians. Personnel working in Asbestos-Containing Material (ACM) areas require specific Asbestos O&M training (16-hour for workers, 40-hour for supervisors). All work must comply with OSHA and VA Hospital policies and regulations. Inspections and certifications are to occur Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, coordinated with the COR. Daily updates and a written out brief are required. Components of the fire alarm or smoke control system cannot be out of service for more than 4 hours and must be restored by the end of the shift. Contractor personnel will be escorted by JAHVH staff and must complete VA Privacy and Information Security Awareness Training.
