Scope of Work

The contractor will provide comprehensive water treatment consultation, including:

  • Monthly meetings with chemical contractors and on-site personnel.
  • Reviewing all water treatment reports and correspondence.
  • Preparing program logs and monthly treatment program reviews.
  • Performing additional chemical testing as required.
  • Inspecting water treatment equipment.
  • Assisting with annual reviews and goal setting.
  • Discussing water-related problems and recommending corrective actions.

Areas to be monitored include domestic water softening systems, main chilled water closed loops, main condenser water and towers, O.R. chilled/condenser water, and boiler plant systems (water softener, make-up water, condensate return, steam production) across various buildings at both the East Orange and Lyons campuses.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

Contractor Representative Qualifications:

  • Education: BS Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience (Preferred): Minimum ten years of water treatment consulting experience, with at least five years consulting for VA Medical Centers.

Reporting: Service reports must be signed by both the service provider and the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) upon completion, with an electronic version submitted to the COR.
