Purpose & Scope
This acquisition is for a Handheld Portable XRF Analyzer to be used by the DLA Product Test Center in Columbus, OH. The equipment is essential for non-destructive quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis of metals and alloys, as well as determining plating type and thickness, thereby improving lab efficiency for customer testing.
Key Requirements
Handheld XRF Analyzer Minimum Specifications:
- Size & Weight: Max 12"(L) x 5"(W) x 12"(H), no more than 4.5 lbs (including battery).
- Detector: High resolution large area silicone drift detector (SDD).
- Excitation: Ag or Rh anode X-ray tube, 6-50kV, 0-200µA, 4-watt output, adjustable voltage/current.
- Filters & Collimators: Minimum 4-position filter wheel, 3mm spot size collimators.
- Element Range: Mg - U.
- Display & Memory: Touchscreen color display, minimum 100 readings storage, plus OS, image capture, and software storage.
- Camera: Integrated with data storage for at least 5 captured images, with data transfer capability (removable media, WiFi, Bluetooth, or USB/USB-c).
- Software: Integrated OS with PC compatibility, capable of data collection, analysis, data export, and all program modes for Mg-U sample types, including standardization for various analyses (soil, geochemical, thin film, general metals, precious metals, coatings, mining, electronic alloys, plastics).
- Power Accessories: XRF battery charger, AC adapter (110v), and 2 rechargeable batteries.
Standard Onsite Setup, Calibration, and Training:
- Installation: Operational setup, including unpacking, connections, and firmware.
- Certification: Instrument certification or verification of performance upon installation, including NIST Traceable ANSI/NCSL Z540.1 with data certificate.
- Training: One day onsite training for up to five DLA employees on basic operation, routine maintenance, and sample analysis.
