Scope of Work
The contractor will provide labor, materials, containers, pickup, transportation, and disposal of approximately 50 to 220 pounds of hazardous, universal, and pharmaceutical waste monthly for the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial Veterans Affairs Medical Center (JMWMVAMC) and its associated clinics. Key requirements include:
- Provision of various container sizes (5-55 gallon barrels for lab cartridges, 15-30 gallon barrels for spent aerosols).
- Use of leak-resistant transportation containers and liners.
- Documentation and manifests for cradle-to-grave disposal.
- Identification of contingency plans for disposal delays.
- Adherence to a disposal hierarchy (recycling, fuel blending/energy recovery, incineration, treatment/landfill), with high-temperature incineration required for pharmaceutical waste.
