The primary objective is to reduce overall fuel loads by 95% and replace 95% of non-native invasive vegetation (e.g., cattail, Chinese tallow tree) with desirable vegetation. Approved herbicides include Clearcast, Habitat, or RoundUp Custom. Areas with desirable live oak and native hardwood hammocks are excluded. Performance will be monitored by Refuge Biologists and Managers.
