This RFI aims to gather market information on viable sources and industry capabilities to provide comprehensive horse boarding services. The objective is to support CBP's mission by ensuring agents have adequate facilities to store and access horses. The scope includes boarding, feeding (vendor provides hay, government provides grain), 24/7 water access, and maintaining specific facility standards. The place of performance is near Whitefish Station, MT, proximate to the border and travel route.

Services Required

Key requirements outlined in the draft Statement of Work (SOW) include:

  • Boarding: For four (4) horses, with vendor-provided high-quality alfalfa/grass hay mix.
  • Facility Standards: Stalls/corrals meeting BLM requirements (min 400 sq ft/animal, 5' fencing, no barbed wire), 2-sided shelters with solid roofs, daily mucking, and minimum 1" dry bedding.
  • Access & Amenities: 24/7/365 access for CBP, parking for two horse trailers, "drive in/drive out" access, secure areas for tack/gear and feed, an arena for training, and a covered farrier area.
  • Snow Removal: Vendor must clear snow on private roads for CBP use by 7:00 AM after significant snowfall.
  • Medical Support: Willingness to administer medications/minor treatments as directed by a veterinarian or primary wrangler.
