Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) aims to enhance its Career and Technical Education (CTE) program by integrating a Hydroponics and Horticulture Expansion Program. This initiative will support institutional nutritional needs by increasing local produce production for over 339,000 daily meals and improving inmate vocational skills.

• The FBOP intends to award a single contract for eight (8) insulated, all-inclusive hydroponic container farms.

• Each unit must be capable of growing a minimum of 6,000 pounds of leafy greens annually, with production replicable on a staggered scale, and able to produce 650 heads of lettuce weekly.

• Units must include controls for optimal plant growth (monitoring temperature, water, pH, nutrient levels) and identify/rectify deficiencies.
