Purpose & Scope
The FBOP intends to make a single Firm-Fixed Price award for eight hydroponic container farms to be delivered to eight different correctional facilities across the U.S. Each unit must be capable of growing a minimum of 6,000 pounds of leafy greens annually and 650 heads of lettuce weekly. The scope includes all essential components (HVAC, lighting, irrigation, nutrient delivery), contractor-managed delivery via crane, final placement, and all associated transportation costs. Site surveys are required. The contractor will also provide up to 8 hours of on-site training per location on operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and food safety, along with procedure manuals. The period of performance is not to exceed twelve months from the approval to proceed for the first location.
