Scope of Work
The selected firms will provide comprehensive architectural, engineering, construction administration, and related services for existing institutions, new institution development, and support infrastructure. Services include, but are not limited to:
- Performance of physical plant and infrastructure system reviews.
- Certifying compliance with Architectural Barriers Act (ABA), life safety (NFPA 101), energy, and environmental codes.
- Life Cycle Cost analyses.
- Preparation of technical and feasibility studies, surveys, and engineering reports.
- Various testing and inspection services (e.g., hazardous materials, energy efficiency, structural integrity).
- Development of Request for Qualifications/Proposals (RFQ/RFP) for Design-Build or Invitation for Bids for Design-Bid-Build.
- Development of Design and Construction documents.
- Independent cost estimates and budget projections.
- Review of contractor submittals and technical analyses.
- Assistance with project and construction contract scheduling.
- Site visits, consulting services, and participation in construction inspections.
- Performance of Facilities Programs conformance reviews.
- Assistance with development and management of databases/systems and computerized construction maintenance/capital planning programs.
Most projects will occur in fully occupied, secure correctional environments, requiring complex design and extensive coordination. Some projects may involve national security issues.
