Purpose & Scope
This Sources Sought aims to gather information from small businesses regarding their ability to execute the requirements for the inspection, repair, or replacement, and installation of an AFT Winch Inverter (#860-02024) on the Port Davit of the USS Makin Island (LHD-8). This inverter is critical for powering the control panel and load center breaker, enabling the launch of small boats.
Work Requirements
The scope of work includes:
- Assessing the material condition and troubleshooting the existing inverter.
- Providing information on whether refurbishment or a new replacement is required.
- Refurbishing and reinstalling the inverter on the Port Boat Davit boat deck, if refurbishment is chosen.
- Conducting operational tests (OPTEST) and quality assurance (QA) following installation.
- Troubleshooting as necessary until successful OPTEST is achieved.
