Scope of Work
The project entails a comprehensive upgrade of the Dashields hydraulic system. Key tasks include:
- Demolition and removal of existing hydraulic components (motors, pumps, reservoir, piping, etc.).
- Furnishing and installing nine new hydraulic cylinders (five furnished by government).
- Installation of three new 2-story HPU buildings on land/middle lock walls and one HPU on an elevated platform in the river wall. The contractor must design and construct these buildings and a new control shelter.
- Installation of new stainless-steel piping and manifold-mounted hydraulic components.
- Installation of new electronic controls, panels, and control consoles.
- Concrete demolition and installation for new structures and routing.
- Completion of a geotechnical and civil site analysis.
- Use of a floating work plant and work boat(s) for construction due to the Ohio River location.
- All as-built drawings must be stamped by a registered Professional Engineer (PE).
