Statement of Need (SOW)

To procure the fabrication and delivery of engine intake plugs and exhaust covers for eighty (80) T-38 Talon aircraft assigned to the 435th Flying Training Squadron. These covers are needed to protect aircraft engines from environmental hazards such as foreign object debris (FOD), precipitation, dust, wildlife, and high winds, thereby mitigating FOD risk, preserving engine integrity, and maintaining aircraft readiness. Additionally, new covers are required to display the official 435th FTS insignia for proper unit identification.

• Manufacture and deliver a total of 240 covers: 160 intake plugs (two per aircraft) and 80 exhaust covers (one per aircraft).

• Covers must be specifically designed and fitted for T-38 engine intake and exhaust configurations.

• Material: Durable, weather-resistant, UV-resistant, and moisture-resistant vinyl filled with sculpted urethane foam.

• Color: Black.
