Scope of Work
This solicitation seeks the fabrication and delivery of engine intake plugs and exhaust covers for eighty (80) T-38 Talon aircraft assigned to the 435th Flying Training Squadron. The objective is to protect aircraft engines from foreign object debris (FOD), precipitation, dust, wildlife, and high winds, thereby mitigating FOD risk and preserving engine integrity. The requirement includes:
- 160 Intake Plugs (two per aircraft)
- 80 Exhaust Covers (one per aircraft) All covers must be specifically designed and fitted for T-38 engine intake and exhaust configurations.
Performance Standards
Covers must be made of durable, weather-resistant, UV-resistant, and moisture-resistant black vinyl filled with sculpted urethane foam, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 300°F. They must be lightweight, installable/removable by a single maintainer, and include "Remove Before Flight" streamers. Exhaust covers require securing straps. Intake plugs will display the official 435th FTS insignia, and exhaust covers will display "435th FTS" in large white lettering, with all markings durable and fade-resistant. A two-year replacement warranty is required.
