Quick Summary

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has issued a Notice of Intent to award a firm-fixed priced purchase order on a sole source basis to the Information Technology Industry Council, Inc. for International Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS) membership for the 2026 cycle. This membership is crucial for NIST's Information Technology Laboratory (ITL) to promote US innovation and advance IT standards. Responses from interested parties are due by February 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM ET.

Purpose & Scope

NIST's ITL aims to promote US innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology in information technology, mathematics, and statistics. INCITS serves as the central U.S. forum for creating technology standards, enabling members to build the foundation for future IT structures. The procured membership will specifically include INCITS Cloud Computing Participation and INCITS Steering Committee (SC) 38 Participation.

INCITS membership, which must be purchased directly through the Information Technology Industry Council, Inc., is essential for developing market-relevant standards that drive the technological industry.
